Mornings are super powerful to kickstart our day. Mornings are so powerful that they even set the tone of our day. When the day is bad, few blame the morning and in few cases even a person. In Hindi, we have a popular phrase, "Aaj ka toh din hi kharab hai. Aaj subah kiska muh dekha?" a perfect one for such situations. This means when you see the face of an unfavorite person your day is bad, but it's nothing like that. Our day depends on the activities we do. It's obvious we get the fruit of our deed and not who's face we saw in the morning. Let's take a look, how you can make your mornings better and eventually your day.
1. Wake Up Early
First things first. Remember,
"Early to bed and early to rise. Makes a man Healthy, Wealthy and Wise."
2. Be Grateful
After waking up the next thing we should do is to be grateful. A new day comes with a lot of opportunities, for getting these opportunities we must be grateful.
3. Drink a glass of water
Don't forget to hydrate yourself. Drinking a glass of water is a must thing. Don't just drink a plain glass of water. Drink lukewarm water with a spoonful of honey and lemon juice along with a pinch of turmeric added to it. Believe me, this is a magical potion which will heal your body within.
4. Write Morning Pages
This is something that I like the most. Writing three longhand pages every morning. In the book, The Artist's Way, Julia Cameron shares her views on how writing 3 pages every morning can help us. The author suggests writing three pages in a stream of consciousness. Write whatever comes to your mind. Even the worst thing. Remember, these pages are only for writing and not for reading.
5. Meditate
Once you clear your mind on those three longhand pages, you will start feeling better. Then, with a calm mind sit down and just concentrate on your breathing. Forget everything and breathe. It takes only 10 to 15 minutes.
6. Sweat a little
You are done with meditation. Your mind is relaxed, now it's time to relax your body. Stretching, walking, running, jogging, cycling is all that you need along with few yoga asanas and cardio exercises. That's it.
7. Read Inspirational Stuff
I recommend not to read newspaper for first few hours in the morning. The first few hours of the morning are extremely important. Try to read something which inspires you and motivates to uplift your self throughout the day.
8. Don't skip your breakfast
A nutritious breakfast is what to should consume every morning. Include almonds, sprouts, raw veggies and other food with high protein.
So, these are the most powerful things which one must do each and every morning. A great day starts with a great morning. Make your mornings great.
